Former Boxer Carmen Basilio will be special guest at the Watertown Italian American Club on January 26th, 2009 This is a fundraiser dinner to benefit the Watertown Area Boxing Club. It is $25.00 per person. You can call 315-783-4980 for more details on that.



Carmen was a two time Welterweight champion and he also won the Boxing Middleweight championship of the world by beating Sugar Ray Robinson in one of the most exciting 15 round decisions in middleweight boxing history.

Now, as some of you may know there was a time when Carmen trained and lived in Alexandria Bay. My dad "Bobby Williams" and his brothers used to play various sports and fool around with Carmen on a regular basis. Carmen also owned some cottages in town.

Anyway, I know plenty of people have some great stories about Carmen so let's hear them.
