"Peach Island -  This is Peach island in the 1000 islands region of upstate NY. Canada is in the background and I'm facing north, standing on Grindstone Island.
There are over 1800 islands here, some big, some small, some with houses, others with nothing more than a tree.

Speaking of which, here's some 1000 Islands trivia: There are 1,864 islands here and range in size from over 40 square miles to smaller islands occupied by a single residence, or uninhabited outcroppings of rocks that are only home to migratory waterfowl. To count as one of the 1000 Islands these 3 minimum criteria had to be met: 1) Above water level year round; 2) Have an area greater than 1 square foot and 3.) Support at least one living tree.
Only a couple of the largest islands are accessible by automobile via a road bridge or by ferry. The rest are privately owned and many have summer vacation homes on them."
